This 9-day journey offers unparalleled views of Alpamayo (5,947 m / 19,511 ft), renowned as the “Most Beautiful Mountain in the World.” Along the route, you will traverse remote valleys, cross multiple high passes over 4,500 m (14,764 ft), and experience the raw beauty of the Cordillera Blanca.

This trek is ideal for experienced hikers seeking a challenging yet rewarding expedition through breathtaking Andean landscapes, crystal-clear glacial lakes, and towering snow-capped peaks. The route also provides an immersive cultural experience, as you pass through traditional Quechua villages where locals maintain their ancestral way of life.

Cedros Alpamayo Trek - Itinerary

Day 1Huaraz – Vaquería – Paria

We start the day by picking up our clients with our private transport. We will pass through the beautiful towns of Carhuaz and Yungay, where we will head east toward the Cordillera Blanca, ascending through the Llanganuco gorge. We will visit the stunning Llanganuco lagoon and continue our journey, ascending through the Portachuelo pass, observing a beautiful view of the Cordillera Blanca with its main mountains (Pisco, Chopicalqui, Chacraraju, Huascarán, Huandoy) and the beautiful view of the two lagoons of the Llanganuco gorge (Chinancocha, Orconcocha). We will arrive at the town of Vaquería, where the muleteer will be waiting to lead the donkeys that will carry our personal and camping equipment. We will begin a hike of approximately 5 hours, including lunch, which will be halfway along the route to the Paria gorge (3810 m.).

Day 2Paria – Wishcash – Quisuar

We start the day with a hot mate in each personal tent to wake up after breakfast we start the hike towards the high pass of Pucaraju (4640m), from this point we will have an excellent view of the Huaripampa ravine and the snow-capped mountains Taulliraju and Pucaraju (5025m). Huascaran 6768 m after that we will descend to the Quisuar camp 3800 m

Day 3Quisuar – Jancapampa

After breakfast we start the hike towards the second camp called jancapampa we will be ascending the Tupatupa pass (4360m) view of the snow-capped Taulliraju (5830m) after that we will go down a picturesque valley, we will be passing through the hamlet of Pishgopampa and we will be heading through the Jancapampa ravine until we reach the jancapampa camp 3600m

Day 4Jancapampa – Huillca

After breakfast we start the hike towards the next camp but before we will walk through beautiful landscapes with breathtaking views, especially the YANACON pass (4620m) on the way we will be able to see two very picturesque lagoons and on the way we will be able to meet very friendly local people and end the day at the HUILLCA 4000 m camp

Day 5Huillca – Jancarurish

After breakfast we start the day heading to the next camp we will be crossing the Tayapampa ravine and we will cross the MESAPATA pass 4460 m then we will cross the next pass of Cara Cara (4850m), we will find a panoramic view of the snow-capped Tayapampa (5675m), Pilanco (5300m) and Pucajirca Norte (6046m), and we will be entering the Alpamayo ravine and arriving at the Jancarurish camp.4250 m

Day 6Jancarurish - Ruinapampa

It will be a short day to recover energy after breakfast we will go to the base camp of Alpamayo to be able to appreciate the lagoon and the wonderful mountain ALPAMAYO then we go to the camp of ruinapampa 4100 m

Day 7Ruinapampa - Osoruri

We start the hike to the next camp we will have views of the snow-capped Jancarurish (5601m) and Alpamayo (5947m) on the way we will find Pre – Inca dwellings, We will cross the VIENTUNAN pass (4770m) place from where we can appreciate the Millauraju and Santa crus mountains to be arriving at the Osoruri camp 4600m without a doubt the best place to appreciate a beautiful sunset

Day 8Osorurish – Wiscash

We leave the Osorurish camp very early and we will head through part of the Cedros ravine with Pre Inca terraces. Continuing the road we will arrive at the Osorurish pass (4,850 m.a.s.l.), where we will have a view of the snow-capped Milluacocha, Then we will arrive at the Cullicocha lagoon with the impressive snow-capped Santa Cruz (6259 m.a.s.l.) in the background, as well as on this tour we will be able to observe the lagoons of Yanacocha and Chaquicocha, until we reach the Wiscash camp.

Day 9Wiscash – Hualcallan

After breakfast we start the walk to the town of HUALCAYAN where our private transport awaits us to take us to the city of Huaraz We will finish taking our clients to their hotels.
