The Huayhuash Trek 10 Days is an incredible high-altitude adventure through the heart of the Cordillera Huayhuash, one of the most spectacular mountain ranges in the world. This trek takes you across multiple high passes over 4,500 m (14,764 ft), offering breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, glacial lakes, and remote Andean valleys.

Designed for experienced hikers, this 10-day circuit provides a more comprehensive experience of Huayhuash, allowing you to witness the majestic Yerupajá (6,617 m), Siula Grande, and Jirishanca up close while immersing yourself in authentic Andean landscapes and Quechua culture.

Huayhuash Trek 10 days - Itinerary

Day 1Huaraz - Cuartelhuain

We start the day at 7 am picking up clients from their accommodations then we go to the CUARTELHUAIN base camp 4180 msnm where the first camp will be but before we will make a break in the town of CHIQUIAN 3400 msnm where we will make a break to get to know the picturesque town and also have the opportunity to eat some food then we continue with the mobility to the CACANANPUNTA base camp 4180 msnm where our first camp will be

Day 2Cuartelhuain - Paso Cacananpunta

We start the day at 5 am by bringing hot drinks to your tents to wake you up. After organizing your belongings to be carried by the mules, we’ll have breakfast and then begin the 10 km hike to the second campsite, Janca (4200 m).

From here, we’ll have a magnificent view of the Jirishanca Glacier (approximately 6200 m) and the blue waters of Lake Mitucocha.

Day 3Janca - Paso Carhuac

At 5 am we will take a hot mate to your personal tents to wake you up and organize all the equipment that will go on the mules then we will meet to have breakfast after breakfast we begin the 10 km walk to the second camp called CARHUACOCHA 4180 meters above sea level it will undoubtedly be one of the most beautiful days in the mountain range because we will go along an alpine route where we will see the highest mountains in the mountain range and also the viewpoint of the 5 lagoons we will end the day camping on the shore of the CARHUACOCHA lagoon

Day 4Carhuacocha - Paso Siula - Huayhuash

An unforgettable trip to the high Alpine wonderland of ice and snow is the true highlight of a visit to Switzerland. Globus Local Favorite At an amazing 11,332 feet, the JUNGFRAUJOCH is Europe’s highest railway station. Jungfrau’s 13,642-foot summit was first ascended in 1811 and in 1912 the rack railway was opened. There are lots of things to do here: enjoy the ALPINE SENSATION, THE PANORAMA 360° EXPERIENCE, and the ICE PALACE. Also receive your JUNGFRAU PASSPORT as a souvenir to take home with you. The round trip to the “Top of Europe” by MOUNTAIN TRAIN will take most of the day.

Day 5Huayhuash - Paso Portachuelo - Baños termales

After breakfast we begin the walk towards the next camp, for many the most anticipated day because it will be 12 kilometers of a view full of glaciers, lagoons and the famous thermal baths of GUÑOC, much appreciated since after the walk we can take a very restorative hot bath.

Day 6Baños termales - Paso Cuyoc - Pampacuyoc

After breakfast we begin the walk to the next camp called PAMPACUYOC. It will be a special day because it will be the day we cross the first pass of 5 thousand meters high and we will also be able to visit the SAN ANTONIO PASS 5010 meters above sea level which is considered geographically the most beautiful point of the mountain range.

Day 7Pampacuyoc - Mirador Santa Rosa - Huayllapa

After breakfast we begin the walk towards the next camp called HUAYLLAPA 3500 masl but first we will do a 21 km walk through the CUTATAMBO valley, one of the most beautiful valleys in the mountain range full of impressive views since you can see the opposite side of all the glaciers that we had seen the previous days. Arriving at Huayllapa we can buy what we need since in this place it is possible to find shops, hotels, hot showers, drinks, etc.

Day 8Huayllapa - Paso Tapush - Gashpapampa

After breakfast we begin the walk to the next camp called GASHPAPAMPA. It will be a very different day from the others since the landscape has more trees and the glaciers can be seen closer. It will be a day of 11 km. We will go to a strategic point where we will be able to see the Huallanca mountain range and the White Mountain Range.

Day 9Qashpapampa - Paso Yaucha - Jahuacocha

After breakfast we begin the walk towards the next camp called JAHUACOCHA 4010 masl. It will be 9 km of impressive views as we walk along an alpine route where we will have a panoramic view of the highest mountains in the mountain range (the back of the mountains seen on the first day) and we will finish with the impressive view of the PUCAPUCA viewpoint 4800 masl.

Day 10Jahuacocha - Paso Pampa Llamac - Llamac - Huaraz

After breakfast we begin the walk towards the town of LLAMAC, where we will finish the walk and take a private vehicle to return to the city of Huaraz, but first we will stop in the town of CHIQUIAN for lunch.
We finish by taking the clients to their respective accommodations.
